North Cyprus
Official currency used in North Cyprus & Turkey is Turkish Lira North Cyprus Sterling or euros are widely accepted in most restaurants,boutiques,Petrol stations although any change will be given in Turkish Lira,it is always useful to have some Turkish lira for entry to national tourist sites. Credit cards and debit cards are also accepted in most restaurants, petrol stations Banks and beureau changes are usually open most days 9am to around 7pm they are happy to exchange at the days bank rate.
Useful information
If you arrive into Larnaca (south Cyprus) their national currency is Euros and do not accept Turkish Lira its always useful to have some euros to spend at the Airport just in case you fancy a drink or magazine.
If you decide to pay in Sterling in North Cyprus its always useful to have a small calculator in order to help you work out the exchange rate.

Turkish Lira is widely used as well as credit cards or debit cards Banks and beureau changes are usually open most days 9am to around 7pm alternativly you can exchange at your arrival Airport in Turkey they are usually open 24 hours a day.
